DESCRIPTION:SCHEDULE\nHomage to a Cinematic Legend\nIn conjunction with the City of Scotts Valley’s proclamation of “Alfred Hitchcock Week\,” The Scotts Valley Community Theater Guild is producing the Fourth Annual Alfred Hitchcock Festival. This unique event pays homage to the legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock\, a former local resident whose influence on cinema remains unparalleled. Set against the backdrop of the city he once called home\, the festival is a vibrant tribute\, celebrating his timeless contributions to the film industry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSCOTTS VALLEY HITCHCOCK SCHEDULE 2026\n100 YEARS OF HITCHCOCK\n(Subject to Change) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFRIDAY\, MARCH 6\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBox Office Open 5:00pm\nDoors Open 6:00pm \n\n\n\n\n6:45      Welcome\, and City Proclamation by Scotts Valley Mayor Donna Lind. \n7:00      Panel featuring Tere Carrubba\, granddaughter of Alfred Hitchcock\, local historian Jay Topping and UCSC Professors Shelley Stamp and Logan Walker\, lecturers of Film & Digital Media\, will be discussing with Tere her experiences growing up with her famous grandfather. \n8:00      30-minute intermission. Snacks and Drinks will be available in the lobby. \n8:30      Kylan DeGhetaldi\, pianist\, singer and composer specializing in ragtime and other early jazz genres\, will introduce Hitchcock’s first film\, THE PLEASURE GARDEN. Tony Lee Moral\, British filmmaker and author specializes in film history\, especially the work of Alfred Hitchcock. He is the author of Hitchcock and the Making of Marnie\, The Making of Hitchcock’s The Birds\, The Young Alfred Hitchcock’s Moviemaking Master Class\, and Alfred Hitchcock Storyboards. Participants have had just 48 hours to create a short film using the directorial techniques of the great Alfred Hitchcock \n1:00      Drawing for the raffle\, announce winners of Film contest Brief intermission \n1:30      The film ROPE will be shown. Starring James Stewart\, John Dall and Farley Granger\, this is the first of Hitchcock’s Technicolor films and is notable for taking place in real time and being edited to appear as four long shots through the use of stitched-together long takes.
